2025 elections humor: Pen is not a souvenir for ‘My Day’ post
MANILA, Philippines — Going to a poll precinct doesn’t necessarily have to be a difficult or stressful experience.
In fact, it can also be entertaining to some at times, thanks to the humor of those manning the poll centers.
“Please return the pen; it’s not a souvenir for your ‘My Day’ post,” a poll clerk reminded voters in one of the precincts in San Juan City.
Unlike in other densely populated areas in Metro Manila, voting at one of the city’s schools was orderly and generally fast, despite a few lines at some polling precincts.
Groups of people assisted voters, helping them find their precinct numbers and leading them to the designated polling areas.
A waiting room was also made available to avoid loitering in the hallway.
“Only one should be selected from the party-list,” the same poll clerk said as some voters could be seen looking hard and confused at the long list of names of party-list groups at the back of the ballots.
“You now have an entry for your My Day,” another poll clerk told this reporter after putting ink on the latter’s index finger.
It was around 10:00 a.m., but it took less than 30 minutes for this reporter to complete the entire process of casting a vote./mcm/abc
